Research activities of A.F. Zharkina are aimed at solving one of the major problems of modern power engineering, i.e. an increase of the efficiency of application and quality of electrical energy in power systems. His researches are related to the development of the methods of electrical networks analysis with nonlinear and non-stationary loads using mathematical models, developing theoretical basis of information and measuring systems creation for monitoring power quality of large objects, as well as developing new approaches to ensure electromagnetic compatibility and information security of the responsible consumers of electrical networks of various purposes.
